Thermocouple

The SleepSense Reusable Flow sensor uses three Thermocouples to generate a signal in response to temperature changes. Due to the Extra small size of the Thermocouples, a good signal can even be produced by a weaker flow. The output may be connected to any AC (low level) channel on the recorder.

Comprising three or four heat sensitive elements, respiration flow sensors are placed under the patientâs nostrils and produce a signal that is directly proportional to the temperature changes of air inhaled and exhaled during respiration. SleepSense thermal airflow sensors generate a small analog electrical voltage that provides a clear, reliable indication of respiration airflow. These sensors should be connected to the systemâs thermal-flow input.

Reusable ThermoCan Interface Cables have two gold pins that easily insert into the sides of Disposable ThermoCan Cannulas at the nares, transmitting the thermal airflow signal to the PSG and replacing the need for reusable thermocouples/thermistors.
